Over the years I’ve gathered books, tools, traditions, treasures, and scriptures that have sustained me and helped me cultivate a life rooted in faith, heritage, wisdom, and hospitality.

Many readers ask about the books I read, the products I use, and the resources that have helped shape my faith and everyday life.  I’ve gathered many of them here in one place and as I discover new favorites, I’ll continue to update this page.  So much of it is vintage and most things I have holds a story that I cherish, however when possible I will provide links for you to find them too.

I hope they encourage you as they have encouraged me.

On My Bookshelf

Encounter Bible  (Holman Bible Publishers 1987 NIV )

~ This is my everyday Bible ~ I have had it since it was released.  The pages are worn, there are markings throughout, and paper notes are tucked in everywhere – it has carried me through every season of my walk with Christ.

The Holy Bible  (Thomas Nelson & Sons 1952 RSV )

~ This one is treasure to me ~ I inherited it from my Grandmother, Claudia, and it has her handwritten notes in the margins.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers

My favorite book of all time. I have read this novel five times and know I will read it again.  It beautifully illustrates the Gospel through the story of Hosea, in the Bible, and God’s redeeming love.

 Home & Hospitality

My china preference is antique and vintage.  I love silver, crystal and even vintage cut glass.  You can find so much of this by visiting local thrift stores and antique shops.

I love vintage Johnson Brothers (made in England) in the pattern Friendly Village – this holds a special place in my heart.  I think most “made in England” is found in thrift and antique shops, as well as platforms like Etsy.  But you can find some replicas on Amazon.   You may stumble across a few treasures like this one on Amazon made in 1953:

Hosting Essentials:

Most, if not ALL, my tablecloths, napkins, doilies, have been inherited, handed down, found in thrift and antique stores, estate shopping, and garage sales.  This is where you will find some beautiful table linens.  I find when shopping second hand for these items most people overlook them.

Inspiring Periodicals:

I still love Magazines!  I always have.  There is just something about holding the actual periodical in your hand and looking through it for inspiration.  I have subscriptions to many.  I suggest the following as they are continuously providing ideas and inspiration for around my home and outdoor living spaces.

 *  Southern Living, Tea Time Magazine, Victoria, Southern Lady, Cottage Living, Better Homes & Gardens

Secret:  I also pick up retired/old editions in thrift stores as the inspiration provided is truly timeless.

My Vintage Collections

Favorite Places for vintage treasure hunting:

I live in North Georgia and we are fortunate to have many thrift and home consignment shops.  A quick google search of your area and you will find the ones near you.  I also pay a visit to Goodwill often and whenever I travel I look up local thrift stores.  One of my favorite shops is The Green Bean Exchange .  Another one that has become a favorite is  Angry Mama’s Antiques & Interiors I also love to visit Queen of Hearts Antiques & Interiors – there are four different locations to explore.  I also look for charity organizations as quite often they have a thrift store that supports the cause.

Everyday Favorites

Life Management for Busy Women by Elizabeth George

A biblical guide to helping women simplify life, establish godly priorities, and faithfully manage their time, home, relationships, and responsibilities with purpose.  My mother gave me this book as a new wife and mom and it has carried me through many seasons and I have referred back to it over the years many times.  It is definitely a treasure.

**This would be another beautiful gift for a bride and/or new mom.  There is a study guide that accompanies the book though in full disclosure I do not have the guide.  I most certainly would have benefitted from it as my book is written all through.  You can find the guide below:

Created for You

One of the most meaningful habits I’ve developed is writing down my prayers, and then returning later to record how God answered them.  Those pages have become a beautiful reminder of His faithfulness. When I begin to worry or forget, I can look back and remember that He has always been faithful.

That’s why I created: My Prayer Journal. Remembering the Faithfulness of God
